December 2021 Free Desktop Wallpaper

Here we are at the close of another year. How does it go so fast? This morning on our early sunrise walk around the lake, Tim and I wondered together about what our guiding word for December should be. We talked about how we want this month to feel slow and sacred. How we want to hold still in the moments of advent and steep in the favorite activities and bustle of Christmas. This time is special. It carries great gravity. And it also goes so fast.

So we decided to lean into the word “Sacred” – to honor the significance of both the simple and supreme.
For this desktop design, I was inspired by faded Christmas postcards I have collected from antique stores and my grandmothers stashes over the years. I like the way these colors make me feel. Hopefully it brings good memories to you as well. Feel free to choose the color scheme you most resonate with. Praying that you can find your own “Still, Still, Still” this holiday season. August is here! We are settling into the hot end of summer, gearing back up for fall and all the new challenges that brings. I know so many of you are in places of worry and newness trying to navigate the right decisions in this time of unknowable futures. I cannot believe it is June already. Our family has all sorts of fun planned for this month – a dance recital, camping trip, a special birthday, summer camp, and more. Oh what a wonderful month June is. I hope you enjoy this new bright time and artwork for your screens. Happy summer!

Happy 2017!

Last night after midnight I was laying awake thinking about what word encapsulated this next year. What immediately came into my head was the word “Light” – being light-hearted, being light in the dark, holding things lightly, etc. Still playing it out, but here is a sunrise piece for your new year.

May Free Calendar Desktop and iPhone Wallpaper

Happy May Day!
This desktop is inspired by antique seaweed scientific illustrations. Aren’t they so delicate and lovely? The complexity of the smallest things in our world is so beautiful. Just some interesting info about red algae – they makes up the largest group of algae in the plant kingdom, with more species accounted for than brown and green seaweeds combined. They are almost exclusively marine plants. Although generally found in shallow waters, these seaweeds are able to withstand deep water and low-light conditions.

So here is to searching out light even in the darkest moments just like these beautiful plants.

Some May inspiration for you –  our May Day tradition around here,  a tiny poem about May, a School’s Out playlist, and possibly my favorite dessert of all time.
