July 2020 Desktop & iPhone Wallpaper

Happy July friends! It’s hot! Ha! I find when I wake up in the morning that the cool morning air found inGrams every artist early summer is more and more fleeting. The grass in my yard is starting to feel crunchy underfoot as it retreats from the sun. And the kids beg for the cool refreshment of pools and popsicles earlier every afternoon.

I hope you have fun 4th of July plans that are simple and celebratory. We are scheming about an early morning hike to a waterfall. Enjoy these new bright, summer sun-ray inspired wallpaper!

Much love,

Betony

May 2020 Free Desktop & iPhone Wallpaper

I am getting ready to start a mural downtown this week. It feels good to be heading toward something tangible with a start and a finish. This desktop was inspired by one of the design concepts that didn’t get picked. But I still enjoy the vibrant colors and I hope they will bring some brightness to your screens. Happy May friends!!

September 2019 Desktop Wallpaper

Happy September!

Welcome to September -a month filled to the brim with new energy for the season, an embarking on new endeavors, a month filled with learning, and full of the fruits of our gardens. I hope you have lots of fun and adventure to look forward to. I plan on visiting our local orchard to pick apples, pulling out all the fall decorations, lighting the autumn scented candles, and paying attention as the season begins to shift.

Much love to you,

Betony

For these desktop wallpapers, what I’ve realized is that I design for what I am dreaming about. So although most of the trees around me are still bare ( we had snow yesterday!) I’m looking forward to being immersed in lush canopies of green. And maybe where you are those already exist, or maybe you are further north than I and are still longing for the first blooms of spring. Either way my hope is that your May is rich with fresh air and new growth. Thanks for continuing to support my family and my artwork. Much love always,

Betony

March 2019 Desktop Wallpaper

It snowed another three inches in Colorado today, but I have been getting that gardening itch in my fingers. I am so ready for those first glimpses of green! This month’s wallpaper is inspired by/features antique garden plans from France. I’m hoping to plan out my own tiny garden soon. Happy March!

Some days you need a sunrise. Or sunset? You decide.

And warm lighted windows welcoming you home from the cold.

Love you friends! Enjoy!

November 2018 Desktop Wallpaper

Happy November beautiful friends! Here is a poem the girls and I have been working on memorizing. Simple and yet lovely.

The stripped and shapely
Maple grieves
The ghosts of her
Departed leaves.

The ground is hard,
As hard as stone.
The year is old,
The birds are flown.

And yet the world,
In its distress,
Displays a certain
Loveliness—

By John Updike

The desktop is inspired by the shifting palette of the landscape. The paint color chips come from an antique book about the science of color mixing. I love the subtle variation in hue. Enjoy!

Desktops for Evensong

On Saturday, August 18th, I had the opportunity to give the message at St. Andrew Evensong, the church where I’m a music director in Highlands Ranch, CO.

I spoke on how with every revolution of the earth around the sun, the seasons themselves preach over us… fall, winter, spring, and summer tell of death, hope, resurrection, and new life. We encounter this every year and the truth of it permeates our lives as our Christian holiday calendar reflects these truths every season.

I let folks know that the symbol that Courtney Wilkinson initially created (and that my wife has redesigned a couple times) was to capture this wonder.

And then I ended the talk by telling the story of this icon and offering it as a wallpaper for desktop and iphone backgrounds. Enjoy, friends!

July 2018 Desktop Wallpaper

My little poetic line for this month is simple. Just something I read while heading to a hike in the mountains.

“Linger Longer”

That’s it. “Linger longer” friends.
